Your account
Turn on two step login and a password on its own is no longer enough to reach your servers. Anything done from your account counts as done by you, so it is worth the minute it takes, especially if you run a public server where people know your name.
Billing lives in your own account and not in the server panel, so it cannot be shared with staff, not even by accident. Payment is handled by our payment provider: we never see or store your full card number.
The people you let in
You can give up to 15 people access to a server without handing over your password. Rights are set per tab and per action: Console and Power are separate, so somebody can read the console without being able to stop the server, and Files can stay closed while Players is open.
- Managing staff can never be granted, not even to a co-admin. Only the owner invites and removes people.
- Removing a right applies straight away, to the tab and to the action behind it.
- Invite by email address; the invitation links itself to their account when they first sign in.
How to set it up is on staff access.
The copy that saves the evening
Every server is backed up every night, on every plan, at no cost. You keep 10 backups at the same time, and when an eleventh is needed the oldest moves to a bin where it stays for 7 more days. You can lock the backup from before a big change so it never rolls off, and you restore or download it yourself from the panel, at any hour.
A backup is a safety net, not a promise
Keep your own copy of anything you would hate to lose. Download the backup from before a big migration to your own computer, because that is the one you will want when everything else has gone sideways.
The rotation, the bin and the lock are explained on backups.
The server and the machine under it
DDoS filtering sits in front of every address on every plan, so traffic that is not a player trying to join does not reach your world. Nobody gets shell access to the machine underneath, including you, because that machine is shared with other customers and their servers. Everything you need runs through the panel.
Griefing is a different problem from an attack, and it is solved inside the game with claims, permissions and a rollback. The guides on stopping griefing and whitelist and operator levels walk through both.
What we look at, and what we do not
We do not read your files to see what you are building. We do look when you ask us for help, when a machine is in trouble, or when we have a concrete reason to think something breaks the rules or the law. What is and is not allowed on a server here is on Acceptable use.
After a cancellation or an unpaid renewal your server files stay available for 7 days so you can download them. After that they are deleted and cannot be brought back. What we keep about you as a customer, and for how long, is on Privacy.
