Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
These terms apply when you rent a Minecraft server from Lodehost. Please read them before you order. If something here is unclear, ask us first, because they become binding the moment you place an order.
1. What we provide
We rent out Minecraft servers. You choose a plan, we set the server up on our machines in Europe, and you manage it yourself in your browser: console, files, backups, player list, plugins and modpacks. Java plans run the PC edition. Crossplay plans let players on phone, tablet and console join the same world.
Server management runs through our panel. We do not hand out shell access to the machine underneath, because that machine is shared with other customers and their servers.
2. Your account
Give us details that are true and keep them up to date, because invoices and tax are based on them. Keep your login to yourself: anything done from your account counts as done by you. Tell us as soon as you think someone else is in it.
If you are under 16, an adult has to place the order and is the customer for these terms.
3. Delivery
Most servers are set up automatically and are ready within minutes of payment. If an order needs a person, for example when we have to bring a new machine into service first, the server is ready within 18 hours of payment. That is the outside limit we hold ourselves to, not the normal wait.
4. Prices and payment
A plan is a subscription that renews every month until you cancel it. The price you see on the site is what you pay, including VAT. VAT is worked out from the country you give us. If you order as a business inside the EU, you can enter your VAT number during checkout and the reverse charge is applied where it is allowed.
Payment is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number. If a renewal fails, we retry it for a few days and tell you; a server that stays unpaid is suspended and then removed as described below.
We can change prices for future periods. You hear about it at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before the new price starts. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, from your panel. Cancel at least 3 days before your renewal date, otherwise the next period has already started and the cancellation takes effect at the end of that period instead. Your server keeps running until the end of the period you paid for.
6. Refunds
Hosting is not refundable. A server takes up capacity that nobody else can use while it is yours, and that capacity is paid for whether you play or not. Cancelling stops the next payment, it does not return the current one.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the rights the law gives you, including the right to withdraw within 14 days of ordering. If you ask us to set your server up straight away, that right ends once the service has been fully delivered, and you owe the part you have already used. Nothing in these terms takes a statutory right away from you.
7. What you run on your server
What goes on your server is yours and stays your responsibility: the world, the plugins, the mods, the players and what they do. You agree to our Acceptable Use Policy, and to the rules Mojang and Microsoft set for running a Minecraft server, including their commercial usage guidelines.
We do not read your files to see what you are building. We do look when you ask us for help, when a machine is in trouble, or when we have a concrete reason to think something breaks the rules or the law.
8. Backups and your data at the end
Backups run daily and you can roll them back yourself. Keep your own copy of anything you would hate to lose: a backup is a safety net, not a promise that nothing can ever go wrong.
After a cancellation or an unpaid renewal your server files stay available for 7 days so you can download them. After that they are deleted and cannot be brought back.
9. Availability and maintenance
We do our best to keep your server up and reachable, and we work on problems as soon as we see them. We sometimes have to restart a machine or move a server for maintenance, and we keep that as short as we can and outside busy hours where possible.
Things outside our hands, such as a network attack, a failure at a data centre, or a problem in the game itself, can still take a server offline. We cannot promise that never happens.
10. Suspension and ending the agreement
We can suspend or remove a server that breaks the Acceptable Use Policy, that puts other customers or our machines at risk, or that is not paid for. Where it is reasonable we warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. For serious abuse, such as attacks on others or clearly illegal content, we act immediately and tell you afterwards.
You can end the agreement at any time by cancelling. We can end it with 30 days notice, and in that case you get back the part of the period you paid for and did not receive.
11. Liability
We are liable for damage caused by our own intent or gross negligence, and for anything the law does not let us limit. Beyond that, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the service in the three months before the damage happened.
We are not liable for lost worlds, lost players, lost income from a shop on your server, or damage caused by something you or your players installed.
12. Changes to these terms
We can change these terms. Changes that matter to you are announced at least 30 days before they start, and if you do not want to accept them you can cancel before that date. The version on this page is the one that applies, with the date at the top.
13. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. If we cannot work a problem out together, the dispute goes to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you can also go to the court of the country you live in, and you can use the European online dispute resolution platform.
14. Minecraft
Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. We rent out servers for the game, we do not sell the game and we are not endorsed by its makers.
